Greece were a class of their own in Group A, winning all their matches in straight sets and boosting their hopes for a quarter-final berth. In their last game they beat Argentina, while USA faced no problem against Puerto Rico, to qualify from the second place.

GROUP B

Croatia dramatically beat Spain 2-1, in the most exciting match of Day 2 at the Men’s World Championships. Their win means they qualified as winners of the Group, having bagged four points, while Spain will start with zero points and have a mountain to climb to get into the quarter-finals.

After their surprise win over Spain, Uruguay finished the job, beating Ecuador, to qualify from the second place.

GROUP C

Denmark prevailed in the Scandinavian game to finish atop of their Group, leaving Norway lying second, following their first defeat in the tournament.Iran defeated Egypt 2-1 to advance to the Main Round.

GROUP D

A dominant Brazil side scored a third win over Portugal, to comfortably win their group. The experienced Qatari team had no problem beating New Zealand to make sure they would move to the Main Round taking two points with them.
