A second win against Romania in the shoot-out helped Youth Olympic Champions Argentina advance to the second round, with one match still in hand.
A close fight in the first set ended with Gallo scoring to make it 19:18 for Argentina. Suarez stopped Manole’s attempt to bring back Romania ahead in the dying seconds.
In the second set, Romania took the reins and when Muresan made it 17-13 with one minute to go, there was no time left for Argentina to respond.
In the shoot-out, Argentina missed only one shot with Gallo (was defeated by Cristea) while for RomaniaMouresan and Moga failed to score.
