Togo celebrated their first ever Beach Handball World Championships successful result, a 2-1 victory over the USA and avoided finishing in the last position of the tournament.

Argentina prevailed over Ukraine 2-0 for positions 5-6, while the Spaniards beat Germany in the shoot-out to rank 7th.

European champions Sweden managed a consolation win over Qatar to finish 9^th.

The surprise package of Round 1, Jordan lost all but one of the Main Round and placement matches. Their last defeat came by the hands of the Czech Republic in the final game for places 11-12.

Thanks to a 2-0 victory over Uruguay hosts Greece, ended up 13th.
